What is the Copper Foil Method?

Copper foil was first used by L.C. Tiffany in the U.S.A., who is best known for his beautiful lamps. Copper foil is my favorite method to use for panels with intricate small pieces and curves. This technique involves cutting each piece of glass accurately and then grinding all edges of the individual pieces of glass. After this is done, copper foil is applied to the edge surrounding the entire glass piece. These pieces are then laid out to form the stained glass piece. A bead of lead solder is then applied to the all the seams of the copper foil on both sides filling in the gaps.
