Lead came is the preferred method to fabricate stained glass if the window is large. It is also best and recommended if the window is exposed to the elements such as an exterior window. It is very strong after cementing.
Each piece of glass is individually cut. Channels of "H" came are placed around each individual piece of cut glass and then solder is dropped at every joint. Cement is then applied filling the gap in the channel between the glass on both sides.
